We’re hiring a Dev Sec Ops Engineer to join our team in Rockford, Illinois, where we develop embedded software for Power Distribution and Controls in Electric Power Systems. In this role, you’ll help improve how we build software, making it faster, more secure, and easier to test. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams to design and implement Dev Sec Ops pipelines that bring automation, efficiency, and innovation into everything we do.
WhatYou Will Do
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement efficient Dev Sec Ops pipelines tailored to Electric Power Systems software development, driving innovation and streamlining processes.
- Develop automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes to enhance efficiency and accelerate software development cycles.
- Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, shaping the future of software delivery.
- Select, configure, and integrate tools to enhance software development flow, optimizing productivity and performance.
- Work closely with the Power & Controls Dev Ops Manager and the Enterprise Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) team to understand and adapt Dev Ops practices, ensuring alignment with the specific needs of Electric Systems programs and driving continuous improvement.
- Provide Dev Sec Ops implementation expertise to assist Electric Power Systems software teams in adopting Dev Sec Ops tools and best practices.
- Enable development teams to automate artifact generation and effectively manage product life cycles, promoting efficiency and quality.
- Automate software releases while ensuring quality, cybersecurity, and safety requirements are met, driving excellence in software delivery.
- Drive behavioral‑ and test‑driven development practices to enhance software design, implementation, and test automation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards that display Dev Sec Ops metrics, performance measures, and indicators of continuous improvement, enabling data‑driven decision‑making and success in Power & Controls embedded software development.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation tools (e.g., Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and security practices in Dev Sec Ops environments.
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, or medical devices with a focus on secure software development and compliance standards.
