Network Field Technician at Furst Professionals
We are seeking a CompTIA Network+ Certified Network Field Technician to support the deployment, programming, and ongoing support of mission‑critical field devices across multiple customer environments. This role requires a hands‑on technician who is equally comfortable working in the field and collaborating with engineering and project teams from the office.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of network fundamentals, practical troubleshooting skills, and the professionalism required to work in secure, regulated customer environments.
Base Pay Range$80,000.00/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Field Operations (≈50%)
- Install, configure, and program network‑connected field devices (cameras, access control panels, IoT devices, network equipment, etc.)
- Perform on‑site troubleshooting of network connectivity, device communication, and system performance issues
- Validate device configurations, IP schemes, VLANs, and network security settings
- Support commissioning, testing, and acceptance of newly deployed systems
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, and internal engineering teams during on‑site activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of field work, configurations, and service activities
- Office & Remote Support (≈50%)
- Provide remote support and diagnostics for deployed systems
- Assist with staging, configuration, and pre‑deployment programming of devices
- Support network documentation, diagrams, and as‑built records
- Collaborate with engineers on troubleshooting escalations and system improvements
- Participate in ongoing training and certification development
- CompTIA Network+ Certification (required)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, and basic firewall concepts
- Experience programming and supporting network‑connected devices
- Ability to troubleshoot Layer 1–3 network issues
- Comfortable working in active customer environments (government, enterprise, education, critical infrastructure, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to travel between customer sites and office locations as required
- Experience with physical security systems, IoT devices, or building systems
- Familiarity with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Aruba, etc.)
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments
- Additional certifications (Security+, vendor certifications, etc.)
