• Keep daily operational needs of the Pressing/Sintering/Preform Departments on track and ensure customer orders and production dates are being achieved
• Organize and manage day-to-day operations for Pressing/Sintering Departments
• Assess and manage workload within the department
• Work with management team, sales team and Materials Director to plan and modify the furnace schedule
• Monitor operations on 401 & 402 furnaces and address any alarms or problems as they arise
• Organize, build, schedule and break down furnace loads
• Work with management team, sales and Shipping Department to plan and modify daily production needs
• Manage and organize workload to ensure operators are selecting the correct jobs based on production needs
• Determine appropriate scheduled hours for team members to meet production needs
• Understand and plan for employee scheduled absences and vacations to ensure production impacts are minimized
• Work overtime as required to maintain production
• Monitor departmental supplies and work with purchasing and management team to ensure required supplies are available
• Ensure that relevant departmental data is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion
• Ensure that departmental and interdepartmental communications are accurate and conducted in a timely fashion
• Evaluate and approve employee requests as appropriate and get proper management involved when necessary
• Address safety issues and ensure a safe work environment for Pressing/Sintering Department
• Possess strong working knowledge of all machines within departments
• Monitor operators' production and help with diagnosing and troubleshooting problems as they arise
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines within the department
• Monitor and maintain email communications as necessary
• Investigate, record, and ensure remake paperwork is handled appropriately for non conformances
• Handle any questions or issues from employees before or during production
• Assist in organizing employee reviews and setting goals for employees within your department
• Track employee production and scrap to ensure departmental and company goals are being achieved, and to use for employee evaluations
• Address any disciplinary actions that may be required immediately for attendance, scrap, production or personnel related issues
