Position SummaryResponsible for verifying incoming receipts of material against purchase orders for proper items, quantity, etc. Controls inventory of assigned materials. Assists in filling litho and shear department orders for steel and coatings. Responsible for some hazardous waste management functions. Performs physical waste activities, i.e. moving and labeling containers, collecting samples, etc. Maintains and develops records regarding receipt of materials, damage reports and inventory control reports.
Will perform other functions as needs and situations unexpectedly arise.
Position requires one of the following (which could include short specialty courses) :
- A minimum of one (1) year high school.
- GED equivalency.
- A minimum of one (1) year vocational school.
- One (1) year experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
- Fork lift license
Certified to operate or ability to obtain certification for Power fork lift and silent hoist lift truck, Ability to use dock plates,dock locks and loading ramp, CDL License and ability to operate a tractor trailer is a plus. Must have some Microsoft Office computer skill, Syteline a plus.
RelationshipsShow respect to all within department, outside truck drivers, co-workers and departments where materials are delivered. Maintain good working relationships / respectful.

Performs physical unloading and systemic receipt of incoming goods including off‑loading steel coils, sheet steel, drums of coating and other materials delivered to the Tin Stores area. .

Delivers steel sheets to litho department. Uses silent hoist lift truck to deliver steel coils to the cut‑to‑length line

Check fork lift battery daily. Completes daily fork lift inspection checklist.

Operate the JLC Tractor Trailer to move trailers from one dock to another as well as from one JLC facility to another. Additional tractor and / or trailer movement may be necessary based on maintenance and business needs.

Also responsible for general housekeeping, inventories and re‑warehousing. This includes sweeping on a regular basis and mopping areas when needed / instructed.
