Responsible to plan, organize, develop, direct and delegate the overall operation of the Nursing Department.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse license in Illinois or Wisconsin.
- Minimum one year nursing service administration experience.
- CPR certificate or certification within two weeks.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices.
- Good English language skills.
- Independent decision-making ability.
- People skills for customers, families, etc.
- Leadership and supervisory ability.
- Personable, enthusiastic, resourceful.
- Move intermittently during workday.
- Handle mental and emotional stress.
- Adequate vision/hearing.
- Independent functioning with flexibility and integrity.
- Good health, emotional stability.
- Work with ill, disabled, elderly.
- Lift, push, pull equipment >50 lbs.
- Exposure to infectious waste, HIV, hepatitis
B.
- Accept work assignments from authority.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate Nursing Department.
- Ensure procedures and protocols are followed.
- Supervise and instruct staff.
- Identify problems and implement solutions.
- Develop nursing philosophy.
- Ensure adequate staffing on all shifts.
- Audit charts and EHR.
- Ensure labs and x-rays filed.
- Assist in care plans and resident meetings.
- Recruit, interview, select staff.
- Schedule work hours.
- Perform counseling, discipline, evaluations.
- Make daily rounds.
- Submit Workmen’s Compensation forms.
- Plan staff education.
- Assist orientation program.
- Attend continuing education.
- Place orders for equipment and supplies.
- Maintain budget restraints.
- Maintain reference library.
- Assist admissions decisions.
- Review nurse notes for quality.
- Monitor medication passes.
- Ensure valid/current licenses.
- Report changes to family/physicians.
- Attend meetings.
- Perform additional duties.
