Job Description

The Quality Manager develops, implements, and manages quality control systems to ensure continuous production aligned with standards, customer specifications, and production goals. The role supervises a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and sorting department staff. The manager ensures compliance with customer, internal, IATF 16949, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Understand customer needs to develop effective quality control processes.
  • Review specifications for products and processes; set requirements for raw materials and monitor supplier compliance.
  • Conduct inspections and testing to maintain high productivity and technical integrity.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish quality standards and reliability expectations.
  • Maintain quality control standards and objectives.
  • Coordinate with production to maximize reliability and minimize costs.
  • Apply TQM tools for analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams.
  • Design and implement quality control training programs.
  • Manage CAPA processes to eliminate causes of nonconformities.
  • Document, analyze, and control requirements through MPR processes.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis for problem-solving.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure quality of purchased parts.
  • Assist in process certification.
  • Schedule production considering staffing and vacations.
  • Control inventory of equipment and tools.
  • Review weekly, monthly, and yearly check sheets.
  • Track daily quality issues and production targets.
  • Conduct annual reviews for sorting associates.
  • Qualifications
    • Associate degree or 10 years of progressive experience in the fastener industry.
    • Knowledge of the automotive industry and production control.
    • Experience with MPR, CAPA, and RCA.
    • 4+ years leadership or leadership training.
    • Reliable, with a strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under stress.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • IATF 16949 auditor certification preferred.
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
    • Proficient in blueprint reading, quality inspection, and relevant technologies.
    • Experience with ERP and quality control software.
    • OSHA training and problem-solving skills preferred.
    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, wear PPE, stand and move for 8-10 hours, and travel up to 10%. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
