- Work Hours: 6.5 hours per day (Part‑time)
Supports the Nutrition Services Lead Cook and assists in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in the school kitchen, ensuring food safety and quality, following standardized recipes, and supporting back‑of‑house functions for a smooth operation.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure alignment with Board policies, mission, and strategic plan.
- Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for a efficient work environment.
- Follow and accurately complete district production sheets for menu items daily.
- Prepare menu items according to district recipes and menus.
- Review menu items ahead of service day to ensure readiness, thawing, preparation and quality.
- Prepare appropriate amount of each menu item based on enrollment, past production records and special events.
- Batch cook for best food quality and waste reduction.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order and notify Kitchen Manager if not.
- Maintain cleanliness of prep area and used equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and receiving orders.
- Ensure accommodation of dietary modifications and food allergies for students using district reports.
- Follow all Health Department standards for food safety and sanitation.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cook in a similar setting preferred.
- Not eligible for benefits for less than 3.5 hours.

- Bilingual as required by location.

Occasional district travel and intermittent state and out‑of‑state travel.
Occasional prolonged and irregular hours of work.
Physical RequirementsRequires ability to lift, push, pull and move objects up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Visual Acuity RequirementsMinimum vision standards for tasks requiring visual inspection and computer use.
