Chemist

Function: Manufacture inorganic and organometallic precursor materials for crystal growth, electronics, energy generation, and a broad variety of diverse applications.

Location: Rockford, IL

FLSA Status: Exempt

• Follow SOPs and approved company material preparation procedures
• Set up and run chemical operations independently or under minimal supervision
• Perform basic analytical testing of products and intermediates
• Maintain lab notebook
• Package materials as needed
• Consolidate chemical waste and move to satellite accumulation
• Restock and take materials out of inventory

• B.S. in Chemistry with chemical laboratory work experience
• Knowledge of inorganic, and/or organometallic chemistry
• Basic knowledge of major analytical techniques, including x-ray powder diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance, IR spectroscopy, and gas chromatography
• Eligible to work in the USA

• 1+ years of hands-on synthetic experience in an industrial environment
• Hands on experience with major analytical techniques, including x-ray powder diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance, IR spectroscopy, and gas chromatography
• Experience with process optimization and scale-up
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivation and desire to grow professionally
