Credit Counselor
We are hiring a Credit Counselor for a Not-For-Profit financial organization that helps people get out of debt. The Credit Counselor position does not require previous experience in finance or credit counseling. Training is provided. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and an approachable personality that demonstrates empathy while helping families deal with debt management without shame or embarrassment.
Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. This is a Furst-to-Hire opportunity.
Hours:
8-hour days, between 8:30am and 7pm — you decide your schedule
Pay: $17.00-$21.00 DOE

Credit Counselor Responsibilities:- Respond to online quote requests and inquiries, emails, and text messages from people seeking help
- Review budgets and credit reports (training provided)
- Help clients understand their options and guide them through the process
- Use Salesforce, Outlook, and other tools to stay organized and manage workflow
- Communicate with care, professionalism, and empathy
- Conduct credit counseling sessions; reviewing debt, budget analysis, and presenting a personalized action plan
- Present solutions to customers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous sales or call center experience preferred
- Must enjoy working on the phone and computer
- Ability to establish rapport demonstrating patience with customers
- Strong work ethic, including good attendance and punctuality
- Eagerness to help others
