YOUR IMPACT
The Relationship Manager upholds all YMCA safety and member service standards while focusing on positive relationships with all YMCA members, staff, volunteers and guests. The Relationship Manager is an ambassador for the YMCA and should ensure delivery of high standards of cleanliness and customer service while creating a welcoming environment for all. This position is expected to rotate between all facility branch locations.

Responsibilities

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of YMCA facilities and equipment to effectively support and inform members.
  • Builds authentic, supportive relationships with members, fostering a sense of community and connection within the YCMA.
  • Welcomes and introduces new members to group exercise classes and virtual communities aligned with their health and wellness goals.
  • Delivers exceptional customer services to members, guests, and program participants both in person and over the phone, supporting overall member satisfaction and retention.
  • Encourages and facilitates connections among members and promotes participation in the YMCA small groups.
  • Conducts outreach calls to new and existing members to engage them in YMCA programs, services, and activities.
  • Resolves membership concerns promptly and professionally, and reports unresolved or unusual situations to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Adheres to all YMCA policies and procedures related to member services.
  • Demonstrates strong listening skills; takes ownership of issues and works to resolve them efficiently and professionally.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
  • Maintains open, respectful, and consistent communication with members and leadership staff.
  • Collaborates effectively with coworkers and association leadership to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming.
  • Ensures YMCA building and property is secure and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
  • Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.
Schedule & Compensation

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION: 1 Position

* May be asked to work at any of our 4 branches*

Part-Time Position 1:
Puri Family YMCA, Northeast Family YMCA, Swedish American Riverfront YMCA

Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Monday 4:45am - 9:00 am Puri Family YMCA
Tuesday 4:45am - 9:00 am Puri Family YMCA
Wednesday 4:45am - 9:00 am Northeast Family YMCA
Thursday 4:45am - 9:00 am Northeast Family YMCA
Friday 4:45am - 9:00 am Swedish American Riverfront YMCA
Every other Sunday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Swedish American Riverfront YMCA
$15.00 per hour

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications.
  • CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days.
  • Praesidium Academy trainings.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
