Route Delivery Truck Driver

The Route Delivery Truck Driver plays a vital role in Performance Food Group’s food delivery network. Drivers ensure safe, on‑time delivery of food products while representing the company and building lasting customer relationships.

The Driver operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, shuttle, overnight, drive‑and‑drop routes. Duties include interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers; completing DOT documentation; and maintaining a clean, safe operating environment.

• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip safety checks and inspections of the truck and trailer in line with DOT regulations.
• Ensure freight is properly loaded, secured, and meets company safety standards.
• Verify customer orders, conduct count checks, and complete accurate paperwork.
• Drive to scheduled routes, deliver orders, obtain signatures, and collect cash or checks.
• Unload products with care, perform damage control checks, and report issues to the supervisor.
• Return customer goods, secure trailer doors, and maintain documentation for returns.
• Keep the truck, loading dock area, and trailers clean and organized.
• Record daily Hours of Service in logbooks per DOT, state, and company policies.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 12+ months tractor/trailer driving experience.
• Valid CDL‑A; must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years.
• Pass a road test and current DOT Health Card (or ability to obtain one).
• Capable of handling lifting and equivalent equipment for loads ranging 10–90 pounds depending on location.
