- Curriculum Development
:
Review, evaluate, and revise courses; coordinate with instructors; present proposals to committees; ensure compliance with laws and agency requirements. - Lecture / Laboratory Preparation
:
Select textbooks; develop syllabi; prepare handouts, visual aids, and audiovisual materials; keep learning resources current. - Lecture / Laboratory Presentation
:
Deliver clear, engaging instruction; use examples and visual aids; monitor student participation; maintain classroom order. - Student Performance Evaluation
:
Design assessment techniques; grade assignments; monitor exam integrity; advise students; refer to support services; maintain records. - CTE / Academy Liaison Services
:
Liaise with POST and other agencies; oversee applications and onboarding; ensure compliance with state mandates; attend meetings; recruit underrepresented students. - Shared Governance Participation
:
Attend departmental and campus meetings; contribute to curriculum development and committee work. - Ancillary Student Services
:
Provide career and degree counseling; hold office hours; support student success and graduation proceedings.
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree (
AND 2 years of occupational experience)
OR Associate’s degree (
AND 6 years of occupational experience)
OR equivalent. - Certifications
:
Any required certificate or license for the discipline. - Experience
:
Two (2) years for bachelor’s pathway or six (6) years for associate’s pathway in administration of justice or related fields.
- Strategies for supporting historically underrepresented and underserved students.
- Role of faculty in student success.
- Evolution of your teaching approach with examples.
- Alignment of teaching philosophy with equitable student success.
