Speech-Language Pathologist; SLP

Role: K-12 Speech-Language Pathologist

Setting:
Small, hands-on special needs school environment

Goal:
Maximize student communication competence, functional language, and academic integration.

• Conduct comprehensive formal and informal evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and literacy skills.
• Design data-driven, evidence-based Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Establish functional, measurable communication goals tailored to each student.

• Provide direct individual and small-group therapy sessions customized to students.
• Implement Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems and assistive technologies for non-verbal or severely speech-impaired students.
• Address articulation, phonology, fluency (stuttering), and social pragmatic language delays.

• Work directly inside a small-school framework to coordinate closely with special education teachers.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences.
• Train parents and classroom staff on carryover strategies to use communication tools throughout the daily routine.

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Valid state licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (or local governing equivalent).
• Experience or specialized training in K-12 special needs, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and AAC implementation
