- Linux OS Standards:
Develop and implement technical standards for Linux operating systems, primarily RHEL and CentOS. - Kernel Tuning:
Perform kernel tuning to optimize system performance. - Capacity Planning:
Implement capacity planning for Linux REPOs and support tools like Git Hub, Satellite, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins. - Technology Evaluation:
Collaborate with architects to evaluate new technologies and conduct POCs (Proof of Concept) to extend the multi-year roadmap for infrastructure and set the technical direction. - Infrastructure Design:
Gather and analyze project requirements, design, and implement Linux infrastructure components. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with Level 2 teams to define their workflow, documentation, and runbooks. - Hands-On Contribution:
Actively contribute by working alongside your team to implement solutions. - Team Development:
Grow and develop your team's technical capabilities and manage individual priorities and tasks. - Documentation:
Publish Build-To and review the As-Built documentation for server-related deployments. - Proactive Solutions:
Provide insightful data to guide decision-making and offer proactive solutions.
- Occasionally transport materials and equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Experience:
7+ years of managing Linux Operating Systems in an enterprise environment. - Enterprise
Experience:
In-depth experience deploying and supporting Linux servers in highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise-level environments. - Linux Provisioning:
Experience delivering fully integrated, automated, and highly available Linux provisioning processes using enterprise tools and technologies. - Linux Expertise:
Deep understanding of Linux OS, virtualization platforms, cloud computing, configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet), and familiarity with Oracle and/or SQL databases, VMware, and/or Hyper
V. - Scripting
Skills:
Proficiency in Linux scripting languages, Python, ksh, bash, or shell scripting. - Security Practices:
Strong working knowledge of security best practices for implementing secure Linux solutions. - Satellite
Experience:
Ideally, experience deploying and maintaining a Satellite patch solution and managing AD SPN objects on Linux servers using keytab files. - Performance Troubleshooting:
Hands-on experience with configuration, administration, and performance troubleshooting for Linux OS, apache/tomcat, and database servers. - Automation Tools:
Practical experience with Ansible, Satellite, REPOs, and Linux automation. - System Monitoring & Tuning:
Knowledge of server hardening, system monitoring, performance tuning, and process mapping. - Onsite Requirement:
Ability to work onsite in the Rocklin office.
