Location:
Rocklin, California.
A Welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape. Duties include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal to the required shape, and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.

Key Responsibilities- Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
- Prepare required documentation, including work orders, parts lists, and timecards, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
- Sourcing the materials to be used in the project.
- Measure and cut materials to specifications.
- Weld materials using the correct techniques to join metals together.
- Check finished work to ensure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
- Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Follow manufacturer and company safety guidelines and procedures to ensure safe, quality work and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis.
- Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
- Math and measurement skills: tape measure, scale, calipers, fillet weld gauge.
- Communicate with equipment managers and field managers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
- Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.
- Operate heavy power‑driven equipment.
- Obtain forklift and boom lift certification.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Five (5) or more years of welding experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on behalf of company business.
- Preferred knowledge on the following topics:
- Operational characteristics of heavy, power‑driven equipment.
- Maintenance requirements of heavy, power‑driven equipment.
- Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work.
- Principles and techniques of field maintenance activities.
- Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in heavy equipment operation.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Welding machine set‑up: MIG/TIG welding and hard facing of carbon; low alloy steels using solid and flux‑cored wire; finishing of welds (chipping, grinding, sanding).
- Fabricating carbon, stainless and low alloy steels; blueprint reading and weld symbols (AWS and ISO); weld joint prep; hand plasma and oxy/fuel torches.
- The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.
- 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training.
- Competent Person Safety Training.
- 8‑Hour Supervisory Training.
- 30‑Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training.
- First Aid and CPR.
This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or osure to heavy machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather may occur. Proper PPE, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel‑toed boots, is required. Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
