Critical Systems is a growing mechanical engineering and HVAC solutions firm supporting complex commercial and mission‑critical facilities. As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting function and partner closely with leadership, operations, and sales.

This is a senior, hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys building strong processes, leading teams, and supporting a project‑based organization.

• Oversee all accounting operations in compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Manage general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and commissions
• Lead the monthly close process, including reconciliations, cost allocations, and financial statement preparation
• Review customer and vendor contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Lead annual audits and manage tax filings and external partners (banking, insurance, auditors)
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadership and banking partners
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning
• Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team
• Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, sales, HR, and operations on financial initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred)
• CPA preferred
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting
• Experience in project‑based, engineering, construction, or professional services environments a plus
• ERP system experience and a track record of improving accounting processes and controls
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to operate independently
• Strong communicator and collaborative business partner

• Salary range: $110,000 – $135,000
