The Office of Eligibility & SupportٓServies (OESS) supports the mission of the Department of Health & Human Services in empowering low income and vulnerable County residents move towards self‑sufficiency through determining eligibility for crucial support services and assistance including but not limited to cash, SNAP, and medical assistance. OESS is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and innovative professional to serve as an Office Service Coordinator.
The Office Services Coordinator serves as a liaison between the OESS senior administrator’s office, Children, Youth and Family Service’s Chief’s office, the Social Services’ Officer’s office, OESS managers, DHHS service area offices, the community, and state agencies. The position provides direct office support to the senior administrator’s office managing calendar and events, tracking documents and following up with inquiries, screening incoming telephone calls, documenting, and providing updates and feedback to the senior administrator.
Specifically:
This position requires operation of various federal/state/local database systems to retrieve and upload sensitive information, maintain statistical data, and compile various reports. The incumbent adheres to established customer service guidelines and procedures to exercise sound judgement, courtesy, and timely response to inquiries, manage constituent services issues, and follow up with internal and external customers. This includes channeling constituent services issues and referrals, through the Constituent Services team under the Social Services Officer’s office, etc.
- In providing administrative support, this position is responsible for routing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Grants, Contracts, formatting and editing written correspondence and reports, meeting coordination, etc.
- As a Coordinator, this position serves as the first point of contact for the senior administrator, staff, and other County employees, outside agencies, elected officials, and the public.
- For Fiscal duties, projects, and other office responsibilities, this position is responsible for ordering supplies, preparing mileage, коронавирус handling, managing calendar, and other duties as assigned.
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible office support experience.
Education: Graduation from high school or High School Certificate пациентов of Completion recognized in the State of Maryland.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in providing cutting‑edge supports to executive/senior-level positions
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other innovative electronic automated systems
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and experience working with culturally diverse populations and providing excellent customer service
- Administrative knowledge in managing and tracking information, implementing policies, rules, regulations, and procedures governing the initiation, preparation, and processing of administrative actions.
