University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES)    UMES invites applications for an adjunct faculty position supporting the Construction Management Technology program at the Universities at Shady Grove.

About the Department  
• The Department of the Built Environment has the following academic    programs:  
• B.S. in Construction Management Technology  
• B.S. in Technology and Engineering Education  
• M.Ed. in Career and Technology Education (offered at the Baltimore Museum    of Industry in Baltimore, MD)    Responsibilities:  
• Under the direction of the Regional Director at the Shady Grove campus, the    adjunct faculty will teach Construction Management Technology courses in    construction practice, building systems, structures, cost estimation, or    construction safety. The courses are scheduled Monday – Friday in the    afternoon and/or evening.  
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications  
• Master’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field  
• Industry certifications and/or experience.  
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.  
• Commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching.
Physical Demands:  
• May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk.

• May require lifting up to 25 lbs.

• Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally.

• Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.#
** Minimum Qualifications
** The title Lecturer will ordinarily be used to designate appointments of persons who are serving in a teaching capacity for a limited time or part-time. The normal requirement is a Master's degree in the field of instruction or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the field of instruction. Appointments to this rank are typically one to three years and are renewable.#
