The training coordinator communicates with managers to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals. The training coordinator is responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating and conducting trainings.

• AS/BS required
• 5 years of research experience with 2 years of training/employee development
• Experience with multiple animal species, both husbandry and technical expertise. Non
  - Human Primate and Small animals background preferred
• AALAS certification at the LATG level (or achieving this certification within 1 year of employment)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Advance organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
• MS Office proficiency
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid driver's license

• Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs
• Create and assist in developing plans to enhance the learning abilities and performance of the staff
• Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
• Train using hands-on demonstration, instructional classroom, or combination
• Be familiar with the day-to-day activities, personnel, and issues within the facilities
• Coordinate monthly safety trainings
• Provide necessary re-training and cross-training as needed
• Onboard new hires and train them in Company policies and procedures
• Establish and maintain a training/reference library that staff can use for review or preparation of certification or proficiency testing
• Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology
• Provide AALAS training and study materials as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
