Job Description
Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching HVACR and/or Plumbing. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.
Position Details- The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as "TBA" does not constitute an assignment.
- The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.
- During the academic year part-time faculty may teach no more than 11.5 ESH per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.
- During the summer part-time faculty may teach no more than 10 ESH for both sessions combined.
- Teaching HVACR and/or plumbing courses
- Experience teaching college or apprenticeship-level HVACR and/or plumbing courses.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the HVACR and/or plumbing industry or equivalent education, training, certification, and/or experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment; willing to contribute to the College's strategic plan of inclusion.
- Faculty members are expected to have a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location. Montgomery College provides an e‑mail account and access to the learning platform and other faculty communication tools. If you do not have a personal computer, please notify the department chair during the interview; subject to available funds, the college may provide temporary access to resources.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
- Master HVACR and/or Master Plumbing license.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
