Job Description This position provides support to the manager of Plant Support Systems (PSS) by providing both management and technical oversight to the team of engineers developing the PSS systems for the Xe-100 power plant for various projects. This includes oversight of resources to develop system requirements and produce key design deliverables, such as, calculations, drawings, datasheets, specifications, reports, and other system-defining documentation.

This role supports the management of a team of engineers engaged in both direct development of the design as well as oversight of third-party engineering contractors to create portions of the design.

Job Responsibilities Support the execution of the designing and developing plant mechanical systems and components using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

Supports the management of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work.

Lead project design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers in delivering high-quality engineering work products on schedule and within budget as defined by the Project leadership.

Tracks deliverables according to progress and schedule while ensuring such deliverables are completed with quality and on time. Determines the appropriate resource to produce the deliverable.

May manage engineering staff by ensuring they meet expectations and promoting their professional development.

Supports the Business Development workgroup, providing technical resources when needed and engaging with potential future clients to promote marketing of X-energy products and/or technologies.

Supports the development of strategy, methodology and technical tools for their area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.

Assesses internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.

Uses judgement to support making decisions and handling complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, technology, or engineering.

Assesses quality of information given and asks pertinent questions to stakeholders.

Offers new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and proactively constructs and provides recommendations.

Performs work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data.

Maintains professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.

Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or systems engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college.

Typically, 10+ years of engineering experience

Requires specialized knowledge within the function of mechanical engineering or systems engineering, related to system requirements, system physical architecture, integrated system design, technical data management, and technical risk management.

Preferred Experience Experience as a consultant in an EPC environment designing integrated mechanical systems for major power plant projects.
