The Benefits Processing Specialist role is ideal for individuals with a background in banking, finance, accounting, or data entry who enjoy working with numbers, reconciling information, and ensuring accuracy in benefit and payment processing.
Responsibilitiesof the Benefits Processing Specialist
- Process and reconcile member benefit transactions, applications, eligibility waivers, and financial adjustments.
- Accurately calculate benefits, tax with holdings, and payment amounts.
- Review and update member financial records, including address changes, tax forms, and direct deposit account updates.
- Respond to incoming calls and emails regarding benefit, payment, and account inquiries.
- Research payroll reports, contribution records, and participant files to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance and auditing accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal departments to verify financial data and ensure timely processing.
- Support ongoing process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in banking, finance, accounting, or high‑volume data entry strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate calculations and reconcile detailed information.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Customer service or client‑facing experience in a financial services setting is a plus.
