Hyer Tek is hiring a Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Lead to support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance implementations for federal‑focused government clients in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. This role serves as the functional lead for the Dynamics 365 Finance workstream and is responsible for guiding solution design, implementation, and delivery across core financial and procurement processes.
In this role, you will partner closely with client stakeholders and delivery teams to design and implement Dynamics 365 Finance solutions that align with business requirements, federal accounting principles, and security standards. You will provide functional leadership across the full implementation lifecycle, ensuring high‑quality delivery, data integrity, and compliance. This position is ideal for a senior Dynamics 365 Finance professional who is comfortable owning a functional workstream end to end and engaging directly with director‑ and executive‑level stakeholders.
This role requires the ability to work onsite at Hyer Tek headquarters or a client site up to two days per week. Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC, metro area. Additionally this position requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment‑based visa sponsorship.

The Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Lead will lead the end‑to‑end functional delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, owning solution design and implementation across core finance and procurement capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading functional design and implementation across General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management, Intercompany/Interagency, Procurement and Sourcing, and financial and operational reporting
- Working directly with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives
- Facilitating business process mapping, fit‑gap analysis, and solution design workshops
- Translating business requirements into actionable functional designs and system configurations
- Guiding the solution through the full Dynamics 365 Finance lifecycle, including configuration, integration support, testing, go‑live, and post‑implementation stabilization
- Collaborating closely with technical teams on integrations, data migration, and security considerations
- Leveraging Lifecycle Services (LCS) and Azure Dev Ops to manage delivery artifacts, issues, risks, and quality
- Identifying and clearly communicating risks, findings, and recommendations to senior client stakeholders
- Ensuring solution quality, data integrity, and compliance with federal accounting standards and IL5 requirements
- Providing functional leadership and mentoring to team members while maintaining delivery standards and best practices
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of deep Dynamics 365 Finance expertise, functional leadership, and experience delivering solutions in regulated environments. Required qualifications include:
- 4+ years of hands‑on Dynamics 365 Finance implementation leadership or equivalent ERP delivery experience
- Proven track record delivering complex, full‑lifecycle D365 Finance or Business Central projects
- Strong functional expertise across core finance modules, including GL, COA, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash/Bank Management, and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to lead solution design, translate requirements into functional designs, and guide teams through execution
- Experience engaging director‑ and executive‑level stakeholders with clear, effective communication
- Ability to manage priorities independently and deliver high‑quality work products with minimal oversight
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience supporting grants management, funding management, or government financial operations
- Familiarity with federal accounting principles, such as fund accounting, appropriations, and obligation tracking
- CPA, CMA, or CFA credentials
- Prior consulting experience in a professional services environment
