Job OverviewThe Word Press Full Stack Developer, Associate provides comprehensive web content management and web development support for public-facing and internal digital properties. This role supports digital communication initiatives by managing content within CDC Word Press environments, ensuring Section 508 accessibility compliance, developing and maintaining web components, and leveraging analytics and reporting to improve content performance. The specialist works closely with communications, digital media, and technical teams to ensure websites meet federal standards, usability best practices, and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, update, and maintain web content using CDC-approved Word Press templates
, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with federal and organizational web standards. - Coordinate web content updates and releases in alignment with editorial calendars, program priorities, and established clearance workflows.
- Ensure all web content, documents, images, and multimedia assets comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements by performing scans, identifying issues, and remediating non-compliant content.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain web components and page layouts using HTML, CSS, and Java Script , following responsive design and CDC best practices.
- Configure and maintain website structure elements including navigation, headers, footers, reusable components, and page templates.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) testing to validate functionality, accessibility, usability, and cross-browser compatibility prior to publishing.
- Support SEO efforts by analyzing web traffic, user behavior, and content performance using CDC web analytics tools
. - Produce regular web metrics reports and dashboards, including data visualizations using Power BI
, and provide data-driven recommendations for content and site improvements. - Maintain web content inventories and support scheduled and ad‑hoc content reviews to identify outdated, redundant, or inaccurate information.
- Assist with web content migrations, template upgrades, remediation activities, and site enhancements as required.
- Support Client initiatives by collaborating with communications, digital media, and program teams to promote Digital First practices.
- Create and remediate PDFs, images, and other digital assets using Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop to ensure accessibility and visual quality.
- Stay current with CDC web policies, accessibility standards, emerging digital trends, and best practices across web and digital platforms.
- 5+ years of experience supporting web content management, web development, accessibility compliance, and digital analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Digital Media, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification (Required) – Section 508 accessibility training.
- Prior Experience in the following:
- Word Press (CDC-approved templates and content management workflows)
- HTML, CSS, Java Script for web content and component development
- Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop for document and image remediation
- Power BI for reporting and data visualization
- CDC web analytics tools for performance measurement and SEO support
- Familiarity with web accessibility testing tools and remediation techniques
- Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility
The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
