Qualifications for the LPN Licensed Practical Nurse
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered with the state as an LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse.
Responsibilities as an LPN Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Provides quality nursing care to Residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, and freedom of choice.
  • Provides supervision to G.N.A’s and all subordinate staff, checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed.
  • Administers all parenteral, intramuscular, and sub‑cutaneous injections.
  • Administers medications within the scope of practice of the L.P.N. Licensure. Maintains a current report of narcotics received and used.
  • Reviews daily the documentation of the dispensing of controlled substances and narcotics.
  • Places pharmacy orders for and administers all newly prescribed medications and documents them.
  • Carries out direct contemporaneous charting during your shift. Charts detailed monthly evaluations of each Resident that reflect their condition and progress.
