Job SummaryAdventist Health Care’s Shady Grove Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health Department in Rockville, MD. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. (Current AHC employees not eligible – see below.)
Adventist Health Care seeks to hire an experienced RN who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities- Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through careful consideration of feedback and guidance provided by more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
- Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify the Adventist Health Care values as we fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
- Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non‑nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
- Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action.
- Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient‑centered care.
- Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
- Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings appropriately to practice.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Passing score on NCLEX.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
- Current Maryland State nursing license.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.
- Over 2 years of Behavioral Health experience preferred.
Adult Acute Psychotic Disorders.
Day Shift: 6:45 am‑7:15 pm, 3 12‑hr shifts/week, rotating weekend requirement.
* Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign‑on bonus if transferring from one entity to another and/or within their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign‑on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign‑on bonus.
Pay Range$37.00 – $55.00 per hour.
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
