Full-Time, 12-hour Shifts – Morning Shift

Rockville, MD

As a Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life‑changing work will range from hands‑on care of outpatient treatments, laboratory testing, surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

• Veterinary technician licensure strongly preferred but not required; LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT encouraged to apply
• 2–3 years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant required
• Must have emergency veterinary clinical experience
• Strong communication skills required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Proficient in phlebotomy; able to obtain, prepare and interpret laboratory samples including but not limited to blood, feces, urine, skin, etc
• Confident in IVC placement and maintenance
• Proficient in blood smears, cytology preparation and interpretation
• Familiar with common radiographic positioning techniques and image capture
• Familiar with CPR; candidates with RECOVER BLS/ALS certification encouraged to apply
• Experience and confidence in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during anesthetic events

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team across hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with practice systems
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Mentor and support fellow team members

Negotiable based on credentials and experience, hourly pay starting at $24–$26 if non‑credentialed and $34 if credentialed.
