Our client is a full‑service veterinary hospital and pet resort located in Rockville, Maryland, seeking a Lead Veterinarian to guide their dedicated team. This unique facility combines exceptional veterinary medicine with premium boarding, daycare, and grooming services, offering an all‑in‑one experience for pets and their families. The hospital is looking for an experienced leader or an aspiring associate veterinarian ready to take the next step in their career, leading a compassionate and motivated team while practicing high‑quality medicine in a state‑of‑the‑art environment.
WorkingHours / Rota
This is a full‑time position with consistent daytime hours and no overnight shifts. The hospital operates seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, 7:00 AM‑7:00 PM. The flexible schedule supports a strong work‑life balance while ensuring continuous care for pets staying at the resort.
Role Description and ResponsibilitiesThe Lead Veterinarian will oversee all aspects of medical operations while maintaining an active clinical caseload.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and mentoring associate doctors and support staff
- Developing medical protocols
- Ensuring regulatory compliance
Driving hospital performance - Performing examinations, diagnostics, surgeries, and preventive care
- Maintaining high medical standards and exceptional client communication
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of clinical experience, be confident in surgery, and possess leadership and business acumen to inspire and grow the team.
Practice DetailsThe hospital spans over 16,000 sq. ft. and is designed to provide comprehensive care and comfort. Facilities include three exam rooms, a surgical suite, dentistry capabilities, ultrasound, a hospital ward, isolation and prep rooms, break rooms, and ample space for patient recovery and staff collaboration. Services offered include wellness and preventive care, diagnostic testing, and surgical procedures. Every pet is under the direct supervision of the veterinary team throughout their stay, ensuring the highest standard of continuous care whether they’re visiting for treatment, boarding, or grooming.

Candidate Requirements- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
Salary: $190,000 annual (competitive base up to $190K)
