Brief Job OverviewThis is a non-supervisory, full time, 3-year fixed-term, research position in USP’s Product Quality and Analytical Methods group, division of Digital and Innovation. The successful candidate will lead research investigating applications of chemometric modeling for analytical chemistry platforms with a focus on chromatography specifically /HPLC. The successful candidate will be skilled in analytical chemistry and data analysis and have a strong background in analytical data modeling using appropriate chemometric and multivariate modeling tools and techniques.
The candidate will be responsible for both hands-on laboratory research and computational data modeling. This position will work in collaboration with both laboratory and data scientists throughout this project. This position is an on-site, hands-on role that requires laboratory work.

Role ResponsibilitiesThe Scientist IV, PQAM has the following responsibilities:
Analytical Laboratory work- Skilled in analytical chemistry, especially in chromatography, HPLC specifically.
- Work independently with respect to the development and evaluation of chromatographic (i.e., HPLC) methods, procedures and data acquisition.
- Independently design and execute experiments, provide input on/draw conclusions, and clearly communicate the results with the project team.
- Routinely apply personal experience, academic training, and insights to address technical problems.
- Collaborate in a team setting to achieve goals.
- Experience in the collection and curation of scientific data suitable for data modeling.
- Develop and apply chemometric, multivariate models to interpret scientific/analytical/chemical data. Skilled in at least one programming language with the ability to create prototypes and rapidly test ideas.
