HELLO BETTY Bethesda restaurant is anchored at Pike and Rose; located on the 3rd floor of the Canopy by Hilton Hotel 940 Rose Avenue, Bethesda. The 3000‑square‑foot space features 138 seats, a 14‑seat private dining room, a 40‑foot patio, and a Delta Deadrise boat bar with 23 seats.

Responsibilities
  • Check all items against recipe cards, verify that use records are followed, and ensure food is presented efficiently and with quality.
  • Monitor line setup before meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during service. Ensure equipment maintenance and kitchen “clean as you go” policy are followed.
  • Prepare food to consistent quality, following recipe cards and portion standards; compile from servers.
  • Start pre‑prepared items, ensuring not to over‑produce.
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP; keep perishables at proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and line setup.
  • Note out‑of‑stock items or potential shortages.
  • Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
  • Return unused food items to designated storage, cover/date perishables.
  • Assist in developing plans to correct food cost problems, control waste, loss, and usage per SOP.
Education & Training

High school education or equivalent.

Experience

One to two full years of employment in a related position with this company or another organization.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform analytical work; non‑repetitive tasks.
Physical Demands
  • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries up to 70 lbs (food cases, equipment) about 75% of the time.
  • Periodic climbing.
  • Bending knees required when using lower oven (5–10 times a day).
  • Full range of mobility; travel 30–50 ft regularly.
  • Continuous standing during preparation or service.
  • Hears equipment timers and communicates with staff.
  • Sees product prepared appropriately; follows verbal/written instructions.
Environment

Indoor temperatures up to 95% of 8 hours; freezer temperatures at
-10°; front‑line temperatures over 100°.
