Role Description This full-time, on-site Lead Carpenter/Elevator Installer role is based in Rockville, MD. The position is responsible for leading the installation of residential elevators and related accessibility projects, including framing, structural preparation, and finish carpentry. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting plans, preparing job sites, operating hand and power tools, assembling and installing elevator components, and ensuring all work meets safety codes and quality standards.
The Lead Carpenter/Elevator Installer coordinates with project managers. The role also involves troubleshooting installation issues, performing adjustments and minor repairs, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in residential construction and structural work.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used for framing and installation tasks.
- Experience in framing and finish carpentry, including measuring, cutting, and detailed trim work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation manuals.
- Prior experience installing elevators, lifts, or similar mechanical systems is preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and work in confined spaces or on ladders as required by installation projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to Rockville, MD job sites and flexibility to work standard construction hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or relevant certifications in carpentry or mechanical installation are a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
