The DORS and Special Projects Coordinator will provide advanced subject matter expertise and primary supervision of the DORS employment program and serve as the main contact for DORS. The incumbent will provide individualized job development and placement services, on-the job training (job coaching) and drop‑in employment support services to an assigned caseload. The incumbent assures activities are responsive to employment outcome goals established by the individual and their team and plays an integral role in assisting individuals with disabilities to successfully maintain community placement.
The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Project EM program and other special projects as needed.
- Acts as a liaison between the department and DORS and handles any issues/complaints that arise in a professional and timely manner
- Ensures the staff are following DORS guidelines with regards to services provided, reporting and billing
- Attends regular meetings with DORS counselors and DORS leadership to ensure the department stays up to date on any procedural or policy changes
- Develop relationships with area companies as potential employers of JSSA clients
- Assist in educating potential employers on working with people with disabilities
- Continual research of metropolitan job market to develop potential job leads, specific to individual client’s skill set
- Assist clients in locating and applying for employment opportunities
- Assist client with preparation of cover letter, resume and online applications
- Assist client in preparation for interviews
- Provide on the job training
- Advocate for client in job setting
- Teach and encourage the use of self‑management skills to further overall independence
- Assist with the implementation of workplace and professional goals
- Review client evaluation to facilitate areas of improvement and foster strengths
- Attend suitable workshops and seminars to enhance abilities of working with people with disabilities
- Attend trainings as required to maintain JSSA’s certifications and licensing with various state agencies
- Remain current with accommodations available for various disabilities
- Timely and accurate recordation of clients progress via use of MyEvolv and CIMS
- Timely and accurate regulatory reporting to DORS, DDA and other agencies
- Timely and accurate recordation of billable and non‑billable activities via CIMS or MyEvolv to ensure an efficient invoicing system
- Client records maintained electronically within regulatory requirements in CIMS or My Evolv
- Work closely with DORS, DDA and County representatives to ensure a cohesive client management plan and create better relationships with those agencies
- Assist with the administrative duties associated with the Project EM program
- Provide administrative assistance to other special projects as needed
- Performs other duties as required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Training and Development, Social Work or related field, minimum of three years of experience in the field
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work occasional evening hours, weekends and holidays
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet rigid deadlines
- Demonstrated organizational and multi‑tasking skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer/database skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to obtain CESP certification
- Spanish speaking and ASL are a plus
