Axle is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) located in Rockville, MD.
Responsibilities- Build scalable, reliable, and flexible applications in Type Script using NodeJS and Angular 19+
- Design, implement, and use RESTful web services
- Implement modern and responsive UI for the web and variety of devices
- Participate in agile software development, prototyping, testing, and code reviews with a small team of developers
- Write robust unit and end‑to‑end tests
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics or other related field (years of work experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- 3+ years experience as a full‑stack developer
- Experience with data visualization technologies (i.e., D3.js)
- Node.js
- Angular 19+
- Containers and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Dev Ops tools (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions)
- Familiarity with VCS such as Git
- Experience with unit and end‑to‑end testing frameworks
- Experience with using and leveraging GenAI technologies (i.e., Cursor
AI, Cline, Windsurf)
- Familiarity with biomedical research data
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail
- Clear, concise communication
- Technical writing ability
- Familiarity working in an Agile environment
- Attention to detail when building visually appealing and intuitive UI
