Work hours

Full‑time, 40 hours weekly;
Monday thru Friday (8am‑5pm); rotating Saturdays (9am‑12pm, approximately every 10 weeks).

Qualifications Education
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Experience
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)
What You Will Do
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and perform routine tests such as EKGs.
  • Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion of testing.
  • Document patient plan(s) of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.
  • Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol. Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
  • Escalate non‑routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
  • Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
  • Protect patient privacy rights and ensure patient safety.
  • May work in the front office as needed and perform other duties as assigned by practice manager or senior staff.
