The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Payroll Officer 1 to oversee payroll operations in Rocky Hill. This full-time position reviews payroll for accuracy, supervises complex payroll tasks such as retroactive payments and garnishments, reconciles deductions, manages time records and paychecks, and supports budget preparation. The role requires considerable knowledge of payroll policies, federal and state regulations, and supervisory abilities.
Keyqualifications:
- Five (5) years of experience in complex clerical work in accounting or payroll
- Two (2) years with payroll preparation as principal responsibility
- Knowledge of state payroll policies and procedures
- Considerable interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Supervisory ability
- Current State of Connecticut employee with at least six (6) months full-time service
