Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Civil Engineer will work as a member of the civil engineering design team on projects serving clients in the New England area. Responsibilities include preparing plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for projects of various sizes and complexities, and contributing to highway, local roadway, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage, grading, and multi‑modal transportation designs for clients such as MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, RIDOT, and the City of Boston.
Preferred Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in civil engineering with emphasis on roadway and utility design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, complete streets practices, green infrastructure applications, and construction management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer certification.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills; attention to detail and exemplary work ethic.
- Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
- Preferred experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and Massachusetts municipalities; recommended experience with other New England state DOTs.
- Preferred proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; recommended experience with Micro Station Open Roads.
- Experience in the AE industry preferred.
- Local candidate preference.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location (PE or P.Eng).
- Hands‑on experience with CAD engineering software such as Bentley Concept Station, Open Roads, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil3D.
- MS Office knowledge.
Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, and CAD base alignment plans.

Compensation$89,880 - $128,400 (Boston, MA); $81,291 - $116,130 (Providence, RI); $81,291 - $116,130 (Bedford, NH); $85,162 - $121,660 (Rocky Hill, CT).
