Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Civil/Highway Engineer will work as a member of the civil engineering design team on projects serving clients in New England. Responsibilities include leading the design of civil engineering projects, preparing plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for projects of various sizes. The role involves highway and local roadway design, green infrastructure, complete streets, stormwater management, grading, and multimodal transportation designs for clients such as NHDOT, Massport, MassDOT, CTDOT, RIDOT, and the City of Boston.

Preferred Qualifications
  • New Hampshire Professional Engineer certification or ability to obtain reciprocity to NH
  • Experience with NHDOT, Massport, and New Hampshire municipalities
  • Recommended experience with other New England state DOTs
  • Experience in civil engineering with emphasis on roadway and utility design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, complete streets practices, green infrastructure applications, and construction management
  • Proficiency with Microstation Connect and Open Roads, and Microstation V8i and In Roads
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience in project management
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Project management skills desirable
  • Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD alignment plans
  • Experience in coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout is a plus
  • Commitment to active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must

Boston, MA: $140,028‑$200,040;
Providence, RI: $122,525‑$175,035;
