Position: Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiology Physician (MD/DO) - UNC Cardiology at Nash

Description

Become part of a collaborative, highly skilled team of physicians and APPs seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiologist to join a busy and expanding Cath Lab.

  • Comprehensive services include Interventional, Non-Invasive, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, and Advanced Heart Failure care.
  • 100% EP with a Monday to Friday work schedule, including 3-4 days in the lab with 1-2 days in the outpatient clinic. No nights, weekends or call responsibilities.
  • Non-profit, UNC-affiliated community hospital, serving as a regional referral center for the surrounding areas. Recognized for award-winning Heart & Stroke Care and accredited as a Chest Pain Center.
  • Financial package includes base salary along with quality and production incentives

Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional medical services to patients.
  • Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services. Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.
  • Consults and counsels with patients and families. Provides health and medical education to patients and families.
  • Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided.
  • Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third-party insurance billing.
  • Supervises other medical professionals.

    Other Information

    Education Requirements:

    • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine and completion of an ACGME-certified fellowship program.

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    • Board Certified in Cardiology
    • DEA; MD
    • ACLS

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    • Prefer prior experience in Cardiology.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    • Language

      Skills:

      Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.
    • Reasoning Ability: high-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills required to diagnose and treat patients.
    • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: NC medical license, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification required. Board certification in critical care medicine.
