** Description of Work
** Work in this class involves providing intensive social work services in serious and complicated cases that require the flexible use of a wide range of highly skilled casework, group work, and community organization techniques in the psychosocial rehabilitation and adjustment of persons with severe physical illnesses, developmental disabilities, or complex mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Services are provided in a variety of settings, including psychiatric hospitals, developmental centers, child care facilities, Head Start/Early Head Start, home settings, and correctional and juvenile justice facilities.

Work may involve in-depth assessment of family dynamics and needs, assessment and treatment of patients and or families with acute to severe emotional disorders, developmental disabilities, and mental illnesses, or advanced social work intervention and instruction. Employees are responsible for coordinating with families, a variety of professional disciplines, community agencies, and court officials. Employees may work with clients dealing with complex legal issues.

Employees supervise and train lower-level social workers, students, or social workers fulfilling requirements for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Employees report to program directors or unit supervisors.

**** Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $34.35 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
** This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 141 Storage Rd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The purpose of this position is to provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program.
