Position Overview
Drives tractor-trailer and unloads product at multiple customer locations. Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws related to DOT and other traffic regulations. Responsible for customer satisfaction, including on-time delivery of undamaged product.
Responsibilities- Drive tractor-trailer, maneuver into position, attach trailer, and secure lines.
- Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre‑and post‑trip and submit DOT inspection reports.
- Inspect trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport.
- Verify bill of lading, store keys, and confirm accuracy for off‑hour delivery.
- Drive to destination, applying commercial driving regulations and skillful maneuvering on the road and customer premises.
- Maintain driver log (Manual or XATA) per DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures, and exceptions.
- Unload trailer and deliver product to customer premises.
- Maintain telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher for delivery or pickup instructions.
- Perform any other duties as necessary.
- Transportation background with a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Two or more years of driving experience and 100,000-mile tractor‑trailer experience; accident‑free desired.
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a CDL Class A with at least 1 year of Class A driving experience.
- No more than 2 minor moving violations in the past 3 years.
- No conviction for DWI/DUI in the past five or more years in any vehicle.
Light‑Medium. Exerting 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working ConditionsWorking conditions may include moderate noise, vehicle vibration, and extreme weather. Requires reading, writing, and understanding English at a level sufficient to perform job‑related tasks effectively and safely, including understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and essential communications.
