Position: Dialysis Technician (PCT)

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Technician (PCT) to serve our patients at the Hilliard Dialysis Center in Rocky River, OH. Paid training is provided.

Operational

Hours:

Mon - Sat 4:30 am - 3:30 pm. The position requires availability to work 32 hours per week and any shift, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. PCTs are expected to work 3-4 days per week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month and may be asked to start as early as 4:00 am.

Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care:
    Spend the majority of the day caring for up to 4-5 patients at a time in a safe, comfortable, and hygienic environment.
  • Morning technician duties:
    Prepare the water room, mix bicarbonate, test water for chlorine, calibrate tools, and set up hemodialysis machines.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording patient statistics and observations.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting 5 to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, and reaching with full body motion.
  • Interact with patients, family, and staff clearly and efficiently in person and by phone.
  • Use computers and related peripherals to meet job tasks and record data.
  • Continuously improve processes for patients and teammates, contributing to a high‑quality health care community.
  • Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics and build long‑term relationships with individuals suffering from end‑stage renal disease.
  • Collaborate with a cross‑functional team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under RN supervision.
  • Manage flexible scheduling and respond to staffing needs across multiple clinics within the territory as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ending work only when it is safe for patients.
Requirements
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic with a desire to help people and learn.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate.
  • Flexibility and availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet; wear comfortable shoes.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory.
  • Preferred health‑care experience: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
