The City of Roeland Park, Kansas Public Works Department is accepting applications for a highly motivated and highly skilled individual for the position of Skilled Maintenance Worker/Equipment Operator. This position will assist in all duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Director of Public Works. The preferred candidate will possess construction skills and heavy equipment operating experience. Candidates who do not have these skills or experience must possess the ability to learn public works operations that include street maintenance, concrete repair/finishing, traffic maintenance, equipment operation, landscaping maintenance, snow removal operations and heavy equipment operation. The Skilled Maintenance Worker/Equipment Operator must also be able to communicate and coordinate with the Public Works team, the public, utilities, and contractors in a professional and responsible manner.
