The Camp War Eagle C.O.R.E. Counselors are an integral part of camp. “C.O.R.E.” stands for Customers, Operations, Relations, and Experience – the areas that your specialization will be in. C.O.R.E. Counselors will work in rotations between our office and store to help staff, families, and campers by performing some of the administrative tasks that keep camp running! This position is for those who are willing to have fun with and love campers, have good customer service skills, and serve with enthusiasm.

Counselordutiesinclude but are not limited to:
  • Working in either the store or office during designated shifts
  • Spending time with campers in assigned cabin during ‘off’ shifts from store or office duties
  • When off shift sallow,assisting with a nightly cabin devotional provided by Camp War Eagle based on principles ofthe

    Christian faith
  • When off shifts allow,assisting with team competition for assigned cabin
  • Regularly interacting with staff, parents/guardians, and campers
Store specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • General upkeep of the store including routine cleaning, daily restocking of drinks and snacks,inventory,and merchandise tagging, folding, and stocking
  • Working check-out registers during the daily Mish Mash time, session closing and opening days, and occasional staff time in the evenings.
  • Coordinating ‘Star Cabin’ to ensure cabinsremainclean and orderly
  • Road watching during transition periods to ensure that campers know where they are going and have the proper items with them
Office specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following areas:
  • The Camp War Eagle office is open from 7:45 am—10:15 pm every camp day.

    Theday is divided into 3overlapping5 hour shifts to accommodate for the busiest times of day, with Office Staff working two of the three shifts
  • Working aweek-long office specialization rotation
    • Post Office: logging and delivering all packages and mail that arrive for campers or staff members and distributing internal camp mail, memos, or items
    • Camper Care Closet (Tripple

      C): managing the inventory of and filling orders for items that campers and counselors need like clothing, toiletries, and linens
    • Lost and Found: logging then sorting items lost at camp, laying out items for students to see during lunch times,and coordinating the closing day lost and found ‘garage sale’ for parents and campers
    • Town Run:taking a camp vehicle to run errands/shop for program and admin supplies needed in town (requires valid Driver’s License, 21+ preferred)
  • Administrative tasks such as answering the phones, filing paperwork, logging visitors, data entry, and managing counselor phone check-out
  • Preparing and organizing both opening day and closing day packets for staff and campers
  • Making morning programming announcements through the camp PA system
