Fire Protection Engineer
Rogers, Arkansas
As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. Specifically, this includes leading the planning, design, and commissioning of:
- Building fire protection systems
- Building fire suppression systems
- Building fire alarm systems
Additionally, this role involves coordination with support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, following quality assurance and control plans, and periodic travel to project sites.
Abilities and attributes needed:
- Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles
- Mentoring and training technical staff
- Interfacing with clients on project design, delivery, and construction
- Managing project budgets and schedules
- Overseeing fire protection design throughout project phases
- Utilizing BIM design software for drawings
- Using software-based calculation tools for design calculations
- Managing multiple assignments concurrently
- Time management and product quality responsibility
- Following Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
- Continuing education based on project and team needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Licensed Professional Engineer with Fire Protection examination
- 5-10 years of experience in building design and construction
- Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles
- Experience overseeing fire protection designs for building projects
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AIA Master Spec
- Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria
