As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Engineer will develop fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. Responsibilities include planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection, suppression, and alarm systems.

Additional duties include coordinating with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, following quality assurance and quality control plans, and periodically traveling to project sites.
Abilities & Attributes- Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles
- Mentor and train technical staff
- Interface with clients on project design, delivery, and construction
- Manage project budget and schedule compliance
- Oversee fire protection design throughout project lifecycle
- Utilize BIM design software (e.g., Autodesk Revit) to produce construction drawings
- Use software‑based calculation tools for design calculations
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Maintain time management and product quality
- Follow quality assurance and quality control plans
- Commit to continuing education and learning based on project needs and team needs
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university or college
- Licensed Professional Engineer having passed the Fire Protection examination
- 5–10 years of building design and construction industry experience
- Strong knowledge base of fire protection engineering principles related to building fire protection designs
- Proven experience overseeing fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Experience with AIA Master Spec
- Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria
