Overview

The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Rogers, AR is hiring a Part‑Time Engineer to maintain a clean and guest‑friendly environment on evenings and weekends. This role is part of the MCR Hotels portfolio.

Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Guest Relations: greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile, using their name whenever possible.
  • Guest Satisfaction: contribute to great guest satisfaction scores together with teammates.
  • Recovery: handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
  • Hotel Knowledge: have strong knowledge of all hotel features and amenities.
  • Events: support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Technology: understand relevant technology for the role.
  • Phone Etiquette: answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Spotless Cleanliness: keep all areas, front and back of house, clean and well‑organized.
  • Pitching In: clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed to ensure the hotel is well‑organized and safe.
  • Hospitality While Cleaning: greet guests while cleaning, by name if possible.
  • Product Consistency & Quality: complete all operational checklists accurately at the designated times.
  • Shift Handover Reports: provide accurate and timely reports to facilitate shift‑to‑shift communication.
  • Uniform: wear a clean, approved uniform and be well‑groomed, wearing a nametag and smiling.
  • Communication: communicate between team members clearly, honestly, and professionally.
  • Can Do Attitude: stretch beyond traditional role to meet business and guest needs.
  • Collaboration:

    work together to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace.
Engineer

Specific Duties and Expectations
  • Repair Requests: respond to and document general repair requests using the electronic work order platform.
  • Preventative Maintenance: keep all room and public space PM work up‑to‑date per the hotel PM program.
  • Safety and Health Codes: follow safety measures, maintain pool/spa health codes, report emergencies, and respond using MSDS information.
  • Full Property Walks: conduct walks at shift start and end; note and complete maintenance needs.
  • Maintenance Area Upkeep: keep maintenance areas clean and well‑organized.
Success Metrics
  • Happy Guests: management performance ratings, guest satisfaction scores/intent to return.
  • Spotless Cleanliness: GM/AGM spot checks, leadership walk‑throughs, guest ratings/reviews.
  • Product Consistency & Quality: checklist tracking, management performance ratings, guest ratings.
  • Teamwork: management performance ratings.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational school degree preferred.
  • Work Experience:

    at least 2 years in commercial facility, hospitality, or related field.
  • Can‑Do Attitude: positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Follow Guidelines: understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Handle Pace and Pressure: work well in stressful, high‑pressure situations.
  • Listening, Conflict Resolution: effectively listen, clarify, and resolve concerns of co‑workers and guests.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Hospitality and Guest Service: desire to serve all guests.
  • Age Requirement: 18 years or older.
  • Schedule and Travel: willing to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Clock‑in/Out: arrive on time and clock out at scheduled end; never work off the clock.
  • Breaks: clock in/out for breaks at designated times.
  • Call Outs: provide sufficient notice when calling out for a scheduled shift.
Physical Working Demands & Working Environment

Physical demands include: climbing ladders and stairs, balancing on narrow or slippery surfaces, stooping, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking long distances, repetitive motions, lifting up to 50+ lbs. The role requires a safe work environment and knowledge of safety protocols.

Language + Reasoning Skills

Read, write, understand, and communicate in English effectively.
