Technical Support, Data Analyst
The EDI Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the company’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems and processes. This role ensures smooth, accurate, and efficient exchange of business documents between the company and its trading partners.
Responsibilities- Monitor daily EDI transmissions (e.g., 850, 855, 856, 810) to ensure successful and accurate document exchange.
- Investigate and resolve EDI errors, transmission failures, and collaborate with SPS Commerce on mapping issues.
- Coordinate setup and onboarding of new trading partners, including testing and validation of EDI transactions.
- Work with IT, customer service, logistics, and finance teams to resolve operational issues related to EDI.
- Engage closely with external customers, EDI specialists, and partner customer‑service teams.
- Create and maintain detailed EDI documentation, mapping specifications, and communication logs; knowledge of Microsoft products is a plus.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including developers, product managers, and contractors—to ensure comprehensive testing and high‑quality results.
- Support software updates, configuration changes, and integration projects related to ERP and EDI platforms.
- Provide technical assistance and training to business users and other IT specialists as needed.
- Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work, attend meetings, and foster team cohesiveness.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems and policies, contributing to continuous improvement of organizational processes.
Enter and locate information on a computer, visually verify information often in small print, and communicate with customers, vendors, or employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups and move about in an office environment and surrounding property daily.
Travel15% domestic travel: travel domestically to and from multiple facilities or worksites, possibly requiring overnight stays.
Technical Experience- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with EDI systems and processes.
- Familiarity with ANSI X12 EDI standards and transaction sets (e.g., 850, 855, 856, 810).
- Experience with EDI platforms such as SPS Commerce, Oracle, and other EDI tools.
- Knowledge of 940, 945, 947 EDI documents is a plus.
Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred, as well as an understanding of supply chain and retail distribution.
Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fields (or equivalent EDI experience) or 4 years of related experience.
