Position: Temporary Worker (Biologicals Division) Four positions needed

JOB SUMMARY

The Temporary Bio Prod Tech main responsibility is collecting, controlling, and properly directing blood during the slaughtering process to ensure sanitary conditions, regulatory compliance, and efficient bio operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect and manage blood during the slaughtering process according to company procedures.
  • Ensure blood is properly directed to designated collection systems or containers.
  • Monitor equipment and tools used in blood collection and report issues to supervision.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and animal welfare standards.
  • Comply with all safety rules, including use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with washdown and sanitation activities as assigned.
  • Communicate any abnormalities, spills, or hazards immediately to supervisors.
  • Support the Bio Production Team with other duties including packaging, bottling, and dispensing products and sanitation (cleaning lab dishes).
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Properly use PPE such as gloves, aprons, face shields, boots, and protective clothing.
  • Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions promptly.
EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to work in conditions involving blood, odors, moisture, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods, lift or push or pull up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive motions, work in wet, cold, or warm environments.

WORKING SCHEDULE AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are typically performed in a meat processing production environment. This is a part-time position. The hours of work and days are every Tuesday starting at 6:50 working for up to 10 hours. Other processes may require this position to work on Monday and/or other days of the week for up to 8 hours. Work hours may vary depending on the operational activities and required duties;

evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
