Job Overview

Home Grown Kitchen is a daytime eatery in Rogers, Arkansas. We serve breakfast and brunch with a focus on local ingredients and freshness. We are committed to kindness, quality, and community. The Line Cook drives our high‑volume, scratch kitchen, ensuring food is prepared exactly as specified, presented perfectly, and delivered quickly.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assigned prep work and cooking station. Maintain high standards for product presentation, quality, and cooking times. Prepare all menu items according to recipes and specifications. Work cross‑trained in all kitchen department roles.

Specific Functions and Duties
  • Prepare menu items according to Home Grown's recipes, plate presentations and specifications (60%).
  • Complete all assigned prep work, following recipes exactly as written (15%).
  • Set up workstation (5%).
  • Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (10%).
  • Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift (5%).
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%).
Qualification Standards
  • A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow.
  • Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves.
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to follow recipes exactly as written.
  • Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for periods of up to 10 hours per day.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work efficiently and communicate effectively in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to help with dishes, prep cook responsibilities, and assist other stations on the line as needed.
  • Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment.
  • Mobility required during the entire shift.
  • Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
  • Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.
  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks at one time at a fast pace for consecutive hours, daily.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to navigate the restaurant, communicate with guests; move and grasp items up to five pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, bend and stoop; adequate vision to discern cleanliness; operate a touchscreen. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
