Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety, the Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for the Rogers, MN solar panel manufacturing facility. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is required to know and comply with State, and Federal laws as they apply to Health and Safety in the Workplace. They will be responsible for maintaining policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental concerns.
They will be required to continuously shift priorities to meet the position's changing demands and are expected to display a high standard of diplomacy, professionalism, leadership and confidentiality.
- Administer and maintain applicable health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Conduct accident investigations and ensure work-related injuries are reported and investigated to prevent reoccurrences. Support the team during onsite investigations and identify possible causes of the accident and find plausible solutions to avoid accidents.
- Provide recommendations and/or implement changes for improving safety in the workplace. Ensure corrective actions from accident investigations are complete.
- Oversee and create monthly reporting statistics regarding H&S for the plant.
- Conduct safety audits/inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain OSHA logs and provide recommendations for safety improvements.
- Works with all site teams to ensure safe systems of work are embedded in standard operating procedures.
- Create and maintain strong team dynamics to ensure proper support available to all departments across the organization.
- Develop and facilitate (as required) health, safety, and environmental training as required by state, provincial or federal legislation for both US locations.
- Work with Heliene training department to ensure training records are maintained as a means of assuring compliance and providing a safe work environment.
Associates degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, health, and safety certification, with five (5) years’ experience working within safety requirements and two (2) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
